Dear registrants of COV11 and the Volcanological comunity,
Taking account of persisting COVID-19 impact on both traveling possibilities and the financial support of physical conferences by Universities and related organizations, the COV11 Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the IAVCEI Executive Committee, and Cities and Volcanoes (CAV) Commissioners have decided to hold the 2022 conference in hybrid format, i.e. including virtual access, in order to enable a maximum of interested members to participate.
Cities on Volcanoes conferences typically promote networking and face-to-face exchanges. Although we expect and encourage a physical presence of most participants to COV11 in June 2022, with networking opportunities and social events full of local flavors, at the same time we are ready to meet the need of those who will not be able to join us in beautiful Crete island or/and will choose to participate virtually. We invite you to stay tuned for the announcement of virtual registrations fees by early September 2021.
