There are two Bulletin of Volcanology awards every year.

  1. The most-cited paper by a senior researcher, and
  2. The most-cited paper by an early-career researcher (ECR).

The awards are based on the cumulative number of citations in all journals during the previous two years. The next award (2025) will be based on citations in 2023 and 2024 and handed over during the Cities on Volcanoes 13 conference in July 2026 in Bend (USA).
